I know this looks like dying, but I call it RUNNING!!

I went for a 5-mile run yesterday and it went well, but there were a few unusual occurrences during my time on the road. The unusual events begun when I had just conquered the serious "kick-your-butt" hill that comes at about the 2.5 mile mark. I was running right past our bishop's house as he walked out the door. I am sure I looked like I was dying or at least wonderfully sweaty and winded as I was trying to regain the optimal oxygen levels in my lungs. He asked what in the world I was doing and if I had actually run there all the way from our house. We will see how bad he mocks me in the future (particularly during bishopric meeting when I am not there to defend myself--I am pretty sure that Paul will stand up for me).

I conquered both of the large hills in the middle of the run and was headed back home on the flat when I heard the cawing of birds. I looked up and there were three crows flying overhead. They might as well have been vultures the way they were cawing at me. I guess I looked like I was dying and they were awaiting a scrumptious meal.

Shortly after the crows decided to find some roadkill entrees and to save me for dessert a police car passed me up. I didn't think anything of it until a few minutes later when a paramedic vehicle came past. I am convinced that the police officer thought I was dying and decided to send for the paramedics in order to save my life.

So three strikes and I am still here to tell the tale. If anyone sees me dying out on any country roads within 5 miles of our house (and/or sees vultures overhead and paramedics on scene), please keep in mind that I actually call that "running!!"
