This helper likes to take things out of the dryer as I am trying to put them in and put things in the dryer as I am trying to take them out. He also loves to carry around combs, brushes, and spatulas, which I randomly find in the laundry baskets.
This is the best video I have of him walking (as he helps with the laundry).
As I was doing laundry this week, I had a special helper again. This special helper was oblivious to his helpfulness until I left him a message on his phone at work. It sounded something like this, "Pick up some bagels too, and you'd better bring home a really good apology for what I suspect you to be the responsible party." He called me back wondering what he did wrong and I explained what had happened...this:
Someone had left a pen in his/her pocket (I only know of one person whose clothes I clean who puts pens in their pockets in the first place) and it had come through the laundry and gotten on just about everything (at least it was a load of darks). The guilty party in question replied with "was it a white pen with blue on it?" GUILTY AS CHARGED!!! Much of the remainder of my day was spent getting high on hairspray, rubbing alcohol and Spray 'n Wash in an attempt to eliminate this helpfulness.
Next week I would like the shorter helper back!

Jake leaves pens in his clothes too. I set a mandate a long time ago that he was to empty his own pockets because of the dangers that lurk in them. Yeah we still get the occasional pen here and there. Fun times!
On the other side of things, it is always a daunting message when you hear "I expect an apology for what I think you are guilty of" on the answering machine. Short and to the point, I suppose, but it makes you think twice about calling back.
ooohhh. ouch.
3 loads of laundry per week.....that is it? I would be in heaven!
Gotta love those 'hidden mysteries' in pockets. There have been 2 times since we moved here where one of my boys had a crayon in their pocket...what a mess! I have never had a pen left in a pocket though. If it ever happens, I know who to call for advice on cleaning it all up! :)
