I have a 2-year-old boy who absolutely loves his blanket. This blanket was made by grandma before he was born and it is a magical device for our sanity. The blanket has the amazing ability to turn a screaming toddler into a sweet, cuddly, happy toddler in a matter of nanoseconds. I learned yesterday that it also has the power to make that little boy very jealous.
Austin decided that he wanted to look at my scrapbook and he was happily naming people in pictures and getting very excited about the whole thing. Suddenly, we turn the page and there is a picture of him with his blanket. He instantly freaks out that this other kid in the picture has his blanket on a day that mom has successfully hidden it out-of-reach in the closet so it wouldn’t be dragged around all day. Austin is trying to grab the blanket off the page and is sure that telling the portrait of himself "mine blanket!" would cause the other resistant toddler to give up the precious asset. The good news was that it was just about naptime anyway, so I closed the book on that other kid who was hoarding the special blanket and brought him upstairs for a good few hours with the real thing.
P.S. The photo was taken at Thanksgiving when Austin was refusing to surrender the blanket at mealtime. Grandma is much nicer than mom, so he got the blanket at the table and fell right to sleep! So much for mealtime!

How sweet! Whenever Grace looks at baby pictures she tells me that they are Matthew no matter who it is.
I am so glad that you started this. Two of our three are also addicted to their blanket. I totally understand
Welcome to the blog world! It is a fun way to keep in contact with people indirectly. So number 4 is on the way? That is so exciting! When are you due? How you you guys enjoying Idaho? That is so funny about the blanket in the picture, that is something Kaylee would totally do!
Jake has a 'blanky blue' and Carson has a 'blanky yellow'. :) Attaching my children to blankets is a life saver, and a miracle worker. :) Gotta love those blankies. :)
By the way, I wanted to tell you that I am voting for William. That seems like a name that would fit so nicely in your family. But...that's just my opinion. But, I don't have a problem with Jacob or Thomas either. Because, I have a Jacob Aaron and a Carson Thomas. :) Good luck with the name hunt.
