Reptile Gardens in Rapid City was one of the kids' favorite visits. They were cleaning the fountain and turtle pond while we were there, so we got to see all of the turtles up close!
Katelyn was having a great time (more on that follows).
Everyone was very interested in many details regarding all sorts of reptiles...but mostly my boys like snakes.
This is one that is bigger than Katelyn.
And bigger than Matthew.
And bigger than Sid.
Sid thought this skeleton was pretty awesome.
This was a giant tortoise skeleton that was the biggest ever found. It's bigger than all of us and that's really an accomplishment!!
The kids loved the snake show.
Katelyn was fascinated by the snakes and the snake man was shocked that she was so excited and attentive and squealing with enthusiasm. He had never seen such enthusiasm from any baby that small. She loves the snakes almost as much as Austin (although you can see from this shot that he was a bit nervous about her being excited...ironic, don't you think?).
Everyone got to pet the giant tortoises (although Matthew was not interested).
William was watching the smaller tortoises and humming a song to them. He kept saying "this is the turtle's song and they love my song."
Matthew also really liked the smaller guys.
