Baby Katelyn!

Our sweet baby Katelyn was born on April 17th, 2012 at 7:16 pm.

After having contractions irregularly for days, I went to my OB and when they checked me I was at a 6 and still didn't really feel like I was in "active labor." It was a bit weird, but we headed over to the hospital and Katelyn was born at 7:16, about 2 hours after they started me on pitocin to get my contractions more regular. That stuff is wonderful for me! Here she is right after she was born.

She was wide awake and keeping her little hands up near her ears, just as she had been punching my hip bones for weeks now.

She is just a tiny little girl, weighing in at 6 pounds 10 ounces. I did a double take when they told me and had to ask, "did you say SIX?!?" Katelyn is our smallest baby, so I guess she needed that bit of extra time to grow a bit more. She is 19 inches tall.

We were so happy to meet her although it took us a while to decide on her name.

She has bright, beautiful eyes!

Matthew and William came to see her the following morning and after a minute of just staring at her, Matthew decided he wanted to hold her and kept trying to take her away from whoever had her at the moment.

Since they showed up right as I got my breakfast tray, William was more interested in eating my food and helping himself to my apple juice.

But he still got a minute with Katelyn as well.

The other kids came when they got out of school to pick me up from the hospital. Savannah was so excited to finally meet her baby sister.

Sid was just super happy.

Austin was a bit nervous to hold her at first because he didn't want to hurt her, but it didn't take long for him to get over that.

We are happy to have our new girl in our home!
