Lived a great many pants that all liked to play.
These pants were so happy and also such fun,
And loved to play around in both hot and cold sun.
Although few were new and 'most all were old,
They all spent some time keeping out all the cold.
'Most all of the pants in the land were so good,
The did their job just the best that they could.
They ran super fast and they jumped oh-so-high,
They crawled on the floor and they slumped with a sigh.
The boys in the pants didn't know they would break,
When too many turns as a "doggie" they'd take.
The pants smiled with glee that they did their job well,
Especially when they saved many knees as they fell.
Some falls were more painful than others, you see.
So these pants sometimes gave out right at the knee.
Both got great big holes, so here's what our Sid did,
He took his left leg and put it right through that hole,
And he laughed and he chuckled and exclaimed "WOW, THAT'S COOL!!"
Mom has a hard time getting rid of pant holes,
When more holes appear as kids play different roles.
Those imaginary animals are certainly cute,
Too bad they must crawl and on those pants scoot.
This day many pants came right out of the drawer.
Those pants that were certainly not fresh from the store.
Two boys' drawers gave twenty-one pants with huge holes,
Mom said "all these holes won't keep out all the colds."
She made a great pile and gave big smiles to some,
That had lots of fun and still covered the bum,
But wouldn't do well at keeping out rain and cold,
Although many treasures they'd (maybe) still hold.
But since they really don't cover much more,
But since they really don't cover much more,
We can't wear them in public or out at the store.
And two legs with lopsided holes that don't match,
Mom gives these a prize for being such fun,
And since she can't toss them they may yet get some sun.
And since she can't toss them they may yet get some sun.
Although they don't look like new shiny-store pants,
They can still go on picnics and keep out all the ants.
So pants in this land that will stay pretty near,
We'll cut you and sew you and see you next year.
Mom really can't chuck you so luck you do have.
As you will find joy in not becoming a rag.
Your hard work has paid off and mom soon will make
A great denim blanket, which with us we'll take.
To pants near and far we say "we love you."
Too bad you don't last more than one month or two.

I have a similar stash that will likewise be sewn into a blanket. I'm just not as wordy as you.
Cute.
