We have officially had the first lost tooth in our household. What a big girl...except that we had to get it pulled. Her adult tooth already broke through and this one wasn't all that loose yet. She was very brave at the dentist office and was VERY excited to finally have a spot on the tooth chart at school.
I smiled as I caught myself saying "you've got a hole in your head!!" and "Do you think your brain will leak out?!?" This is what my mom would always say when we lost our teeth. Turns out a six-year-old kid thinks it's REALLY funny. That must have been why Mom said it. And here I am doing the same.
This made me think of what my Dad would have said. I smiled again as I told Savannah (on purpose this time) that Grandpa used to always say we should tie a string from the tooth to a door and slam it. She didn't think that one was funny at all and I told her that although Grandpa always said this, he is too nice to really do it (at least I know he never did it to me and can't picture him ever really doing it...did he do this to any of the rest of you?!?).
So now that Savannah has a hole in her head she says her brain can't leak out because it's too big. Maybe if she ever gets 8 teeth pulled at once like I did, then the space will be big enough. That would explain some things about me...

I Love that she looks SO thrilled!!! I'm glad that it all went well. Can you believe that your baby girl is big enough to get those enourmous teeth comming in? I still look at Makayla and think "that sure looks weird on my baby." (don't tell her I said that)
Savannah-
Were you brave and did it hurt? Do you like having a lost tooth? When you got it pulled and got home, did it start to hurt? That's what happened to me. I don't know what else to write, BYE... Love, Makayla
Makayla-It was just fine when the dentist pulled my tooth out. I like being on the tooth chart at school. I love having a tooth being pulled. I don't know what else to say. Bye... Love, Savannah
