Independent Austin

The Independence Day parade was quite fun for us this year. We went to the same just-enough-for-kids-but-not-so-much-to-make-parents-crazy parade we have gone to for a bunch of years now, but also got to experience our own family demonstration of how great it is to be able to show your independence.
The kids always get excited about the Thomas the train zigzagging its way down the street.
The camel was new, so I turned to take this picture of it. Others were telling the kids to go pick up candy that had been tossed to the road.
Austin, when told to "go get it"--referring to candy--was sure that someone said "go get IN"--referring to the empty seat on Thomas the Train. He ran out there and climbed right in while it was still in motion and was all confused when we wanted him out again.
What a fun, hilarious, and energetic demonstration of independence! It's just like him to jut go and do it. I think we need to see if we can make money off his railroad hijacking skills.
